Should I choose NYU or Fordham LC?

Postby ephram24 » Fri Apr 27, 2012 9:33 pm

Fordham gave me a better scholarship (25K per year), but NYU is ranked higher in my major (political science) and has a well known reputation for being a selective and challenging school. I have already looked into the differences between the campuses, but this is my main concern: I am planning on attending law school, so I don't know if I should attend Fordham to save money for law school, or NYU because it has a stronger program and will help me get into a better law school/career?

Hmm, tough situation. NYU would be fantastic, but since Fordham is offering a better scholarship, they might be the best option. After all, you don't want to leave law school with more debt. Though NYU may help in some ways in getting you into a good law school, the name alone won't do it. You can still get into a great law school if you have the right grades and LSAT score.

I'm also planning to go to law school after next year. I was going to attend USC because they also had stronger programs, but I chose the college I'm attending now because of the scholarship. It may not be as prestigious, but I'm saving a lot of money for law school.

One last thing: Do more research on the scholarships offered and see if they'll carry on for the next four years or if it's only for one year/term/etc.

Best of luck and congrats for getting into those colleges!
